Zojirushi Rice Cooker Reviews

There are a host of different Zojirushi rice cookers that are available in both Canada and the United States these days. For those of you who do not already know, Zojirushi are a Japanese electronics manufacturer. They have a great reputation for producing very high quality kitchen appliances. As far as rice cookers go, they are the best.

With so many different models it is a good idea to read a range of rice cooker reviews before you make your final purchasing decision. You will need to consider how much money you have available to spend and also think about how many servings of rice you need to be able to cook at one time.

Even though there are quite a lot of machines to choose from it is quite easy to narrow your choices down relatively quickly. This is because there are three different sizes to think about. The mid-sized 5 1/2 cup cookers are great familly models and can produce enough to feed ten people at once. The even larger 10 cup units can make eighteen servings at once. This may be useful to some of you if you are involved with cooking for a large number of people for parties or something similar.

Depending upon the machine that you are interested in, the price can vary a great deal. Getting your hands on a Micom model is important if you want the best. My Zojirushi rice cooker has in addition to Micom, the Induction Heating system. This adds even more cost. However, to be able to make the best quality rice, it is well worth it. Rather than thinking of the cost of your rice cooker, you could view it as an investment. The better the rice that it can make, the more often you will be likely to use it.

Micom Rice Cookers

Micom means that within the machine there is a Micro Computer. This is responsible for the cooking process. So once you have pressed the start button, you have nothing more to do. The machine takes care of the entire cooking process for you. This means you will get great results every time.

Induction Heating

This is a completely different technology to the normal rice cookers that have a heating element. Induction Heating (IH) models create a magnetic field inside the rice cooker. This acts upon the metallic cooking pot and the cooking pot actually turns into the source of heat. This whole part heats up evenly so the rice that you can make in an IH device has the most amazing texture.
